Job Overview

We are looking for a hardworking Asphalt Laborer to join our construction team. You will be responsible for clearing the roads and pathways before and after work completion. You should be able to sweep the road and redirect traffic during work hours. Besides, you should be able to pour and smooth the concrete for a neatly lined surface. 

You should be physically fit and willing to work for long hours. Also, you will be required to report for work on weekends. You should be familiar with power and hand tools. As an Asphalt Laborer, you should be detail-oriented and display a team spirit. 

Moreover, you should be able to clean the machinery upon work completion. You will also be assisting the tractor and screed operator as and when needed. You should be able to measure the work area accurately. A proven work experience in the construction industry will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Clearing the roads, pathways of any dirt and debris

• Pouring and setting asphalt on roads

• Smoothing and surfacing roads and pathways after pouring asphalt

• Sweeping and lining the road

• Assisting in offloading the truck

• Gathering hand tools required for the work

• Measuring the paving area

• Directing traffic to avoid disturbing the asphalt work

• Guiding the tractor and screed operator

• Arranging water to the rollers

• Cleaning the power broom and plate compaction machine

• Clearing the area of all equipment and machinery upon work completion

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Proven work experience in the Construction industry as an Asphalt Laborer or a similar role

• Familiarity with Asphalt hand tools and equipment such as paver screed, steel-wheeled roller, and pneumatic tire roller

• Demonstrating physical and mental fitness

• Extremely hard-working and detail-oriented individual

• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols governing the construction industry

• A team player

• Ability to work at long, flexible hours and on weekends

• Good communication skills

• Good multitasking skills

• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
