Our construction company is seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking candidate to join our team as a Cable Installer. 

As a Cable Installer, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining all the cables such as phone lines, internet cables, cable television, or any similar cables. You will also be responsible for preparing documentation on the work performed on the site.

In addition to the, you should have excellent dexterity with eye-hand coordination. You should also possess excellent communication skills and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Understanding the cable layout plans.

• Testing all the cables before installation.

• Organizing the cable in neat order.

• Installing the cables in the required areas.

• Repairing telecommunication cable and equipment.

• Troubleshooting and rectifying faulty equipment.

• Handling complex wiring systems.

• Replacing faulty cable wires and equipment.

• Maintaining the cable as per the specifications.

• Checking the indicators and dials to ensure that the equipment is working properly.

• Pulling up cables between poles and underground, when needed.

• Arriving on the worksite as per the given schedule.

• Reviewing the work done before leaving the site and ensuring the cleanliness of the area after the job is completed.

• Documenting the work orders.

• Using test equipment to ensure the signal strength.

• Utilizing the fiber optic cables.

• Following the safety precautions.

• Answering all the questions asked by the clients.

• Training new employees for cable installation.

• Staying updated with the latest knowledge on cable installation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Proven work experience as a Cable Installer, Cable Technician, or a similar position in the Construction industry.

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

• Demonstrate the ability to differentiate between different types of cables.

• Knowledge of cable color codes.

• Good hand and eye coordination.

• Outstanding knowledge of AC and DC circuits.

• Excellent knowledge of cable tools and installation.

• Exceptional customer service skills.

• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.

• A close eye for detail for precision.

• Willingness to work on holidays and weekends as well.

• Good electrical, computer, and network skills.

• Ability to lift heavy objects.

• Ability to work in elevated temperatures and emergencies.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Outstanding analytical skills.
