Job Overview 

We are looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be a part of our team. You should be able to travel to different construction sites and conduct repairs of heavy equipment. Besides, you should also be able to replace damaged and faulty parts.  

You should also be able to examine heavy machineries such as bulldozers and cranes. Moreover, you should be able schedule timely maintenance checks. While at work, you should always ensure compliance with health and safety standards.  

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you should be familiar with various repair tools and techniques. In addition to this, you should also be able to work for long and flexible hours. Your ability to work in extreme weather conditions and provide excellent customer service will be advantageous.

Responsibilities 

• Visiting various construction sites whenever required 

• Inspecting heavy equipment to ensure they are working properly 

• Identifying and diagnosing faults in heavy equipment 

• Replacing faulty parts or placing order for new ones 

• Undertaking cleaning and servicing of heavy equipment on a timely basis 

• Scheduling damaged equipment for major repair work 

• Examining heavy machineries such as bulldozers, cranes, and trucks 

• Using computerized testing tools and equipment for conducting diagnostic tests 

• Communicating with the Heavy Equipment Operator to understand underlying issues 

• Advising on preventive maintenance tips 

• Maintaining a written record of all daily activities  

• Ensuring a clean and safe work area 

• Adhering to the safety and health protocols at all times 

Requirements 

• High school diploma or GED 

• Proven work experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or a similar position in the Construction industry 

• Complete knowledge of conducting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs 

• Familiarity with heavy equipment repair tools such as screw extractors, bearing race punch, and grease gun 

• Excellent physical dexterity 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills 

• An excellent eye for detail 

• Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to work for long hours and in extreme weather conditions 

• Ability to offer excellent customer service
