Job Overview 

We are looking for a detail-oriented Pipe Layer to be a part of our Construction team. You should be able to examine the ground condition before beginning work. Besides, you should be able to dig trenches and install piping systems as per the blueprints. You will be coordinating with the Pipe Fitter and Pipe Welder in carrying out your day-to-day activities.  

As a Piper Layer, you should also be able to repair or replace damaged and broken parts. You should ensure that the installed piping systems are sealed properly with cement, glue and other adhesives. You should also be able to align pipes correctly and install auxiliary lines. 

To perform in this job role, you should have proven work expereince in the Construction industry. Moreover, you should also display excellent physical and mental strength. Your analytical skills will be helpful in understanding and troubleshooting any problem at hand.

Responsibilities 

• Examining, measuring, and configuring pipe routes 

• Estimating the material required and gathering the same 

• Using radio or magnetic indicators to locate piping systems 

• Examining the ground conditions before beginning work 

• Digging trenches and installing piping systems using hand and power tools 

• Repairing damaged or broken piping systems 

• Sealing pipes, joints, and fittings with cement glue 

• Placing pipes into trenches and applying pipe spacers 

• Removing and replacing defective pipes 

• Welding pipes to ensure that they sealed tightly 

• Aligning pipes correctly in pipeline sections 

• Drilling holes and installing auxiliary lines 

• Performing maintenance and repair checks 

• Clearing the work area of any debris before and after work 

• Placing and installing piping systems as per the specifications provided 

Requirements 

• High school diploma or GED

• Proven work experience as a Pipe Layer, Pipe Fitter, or a similar role in the Construction industry 

• Complete knowledge of piping fitting techniques and processes 

• Familiarity with hand, power tools and in operating heavy machinery 

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints 

• Understanding of the health and safety guidelines 

• Excellent technical and mechanical skills 

• Good physical dexterity 

• Ability to work for long, flexible hours and in extreme weather conditions 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills 

• Willingness to travel to different locations 

• Impressive multitasking and troubleshooting abilities 

• Detail-oriented and highly motivated individual 

• Ability to offer excellent customer service
