Job Overview 

We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Surgical Nurse to join us. You will be primarily responsible for handling all the surgical room activities. You should be able to prepare the operating room and ensure it is sterilized at all times. Besides, you should also be able to get the patient ready for the surgery.  

You should be able to monitor the patient’s condition, both pre and post the operation. You should also be able to administer medications to the patients. Moreover, you should be able to track the patient's progress upon surgery.  

As a Surgical Nurse, you should have complete knowledge of the various surgical procedures and practices. Furthermore, you should have an excellent eye for detail. You should also display a calm composure. Your ability to handle stressful situations professionally and in time will be an asset.

Responsibilities 

• Preparing the operating room and the patients for surgery 

• Assessing and noting down the patient's condition before the surgery 

• Ensuring that the operating room and other necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized 

• Mentioning preoperative and postoperative instructions to patients 

• Administering medications as guided by the Surgeon 

• Monitoring the patients progress post-surgery 

• Handing over medical instruments to the Surgeon during the surgery 

• Adhering to the health and safety standards at all times 

• Preparing the patient for the surgery by marking incision sites 

• Assisting in positioning the patient on the operating table 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing 

• Holding a valid RN license 

• Proven work experience in the Healthcare industry as a Surgical Nurse or an Operating Room Nurse 

• Complete knowledge of surgical operation procedures and practices 

• Familiarity with surgical instruments like scissors, surgical blades, and hemostatic forceps 

• Ability to handle stressful situations and emergencies 

• Highly compassionate and motived individual 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively 

• Having an eye for detail 

• Ability to maintain a calm composure at all times 

• Good physical and mental strength 

• Ability to work for long and flexible hours
