Job Overview 

We are looking for a responsible individual to join our company as a Caterer. You should be able to coordinate with customers, determine their food requirements, and prepare food menu accordingly. You should be able to check the inventory and place orders for different food ingredients. 

Besides, you should be able to transport the cooked food to various venues on time. You should also ensure that the food is prepared adhering to the food safety standards at all times. In addition to this, you should be able to assist and supervise your team members during food preparation.  

As a Caterer, you should have a strong hospitality background and excellent business management skills. Moreover, you should be able to stay highly motivated and able to work for long, flexible hours. Your ability to communicate with clients professionally will be an added advantage. You should be able to follow strict hygiene standards at all times.

Responsibilities 

  • Communicating with clients to understand their food requirements and event dates 

  • Submitting tenders to obtain catering contracts 

  • Preparing and updating food menu on a timely basis 

  • Placing orders for the food ingredients 

  • Displaying a buffet of food at various events 

  • Arranging for waiters to serve guests at events 

  • Transporting prepared food to and from various events 

  • Ensuring adhering to the food and health standards when preparing and serving food 

  • Checking that the food remains fresh 

  • Resolving customer queries if any and bringing the serious ones to the attention of the Catering Manager 

  • Preparing invoices and maintaining a receipt of the same 

  • Delivering food at events on time 

  • Overseeing the preparation of menu items 

Requirements 

  • High school diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality or a related field 

  • Proven work experience as a Caterer or a similar position in the Hospitality industry 

  • Complete knowledge of the food safety and health standards 

  • Familiarity with the rules and regulations governing the hospitality industry 

  • Excellent time management and business management skills 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Strong leadership qualities 

  • Ability to work for long, flexible hours and on weekends 

  • Excellent multitasking abilities 

  • Ability to offer excellent customer service
