We are looking for an experienced and skilled Sushi Chef to head our sushi bar. Your knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi rolling techniques are necessary for creating an impressive sushi menu.
Besides, you will be responsible for picking high-quality and fresh ingredients like vegetables and fishes required for preparation. You should be able to carefully slice and roll the sushi to make it visually appealing.
Apart from creating the finest sushi rolls, you should be able to fulfill any special requests and plate the dish as per the guests’ requirements. Also, you should pay attention to including striking flavors like wasabi, soya sauce to complement the prepared dish. You will be responsible for maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness levels at the same time.

Creating sushi menus that include a wide variety of fishes, vegetables, and sauces
Preparing different types of sushis like maki, nigiri and adding complementing flavours
Selecting fresh vegetables and fishes like salmon and tuna on a timely basis
Reviewing and managing inventory requirements
Coordinating and placing orders with suppliers and vendors
Maintaining restaurant according to the industry standards
Managing and assigning all food preparation activities like chopping and plating
Coordinating with other team members for fulfilling special requests
Preparing any menu items like soups, rice, and salads
Recommending new and innovative additions to the sushi menu
Sterilizing all equipment before using and maintaining cleanliness levels
Creating other traditional Japanese dishes like Tempura, Soba, and Udon
Chopping and slicing vegetables and fishes as per the requirements
Customizing orders to suit preferences
Inspecting and using the highest quality ingredients at all times
Preparing all dishes as per the established guidelines and food safety standards
Communicating any kitchen issues to the Supervisor or Restaurant Manager
Training and guiding new employees
Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts
Proven 3+ years of work experience as a Sushi Chef in Hospitality Industry
Knowledge of traditional Japanese cuisine and sushi rolling techniques
Understanding of the food industry and safety standards
Ability to stand for long hours
Team player
Ability to maintain hygiene standards
Ability to provide excellent customer satisfaction
Holding a valid food handler license
