Our Legal department is seeking a talented and experienced candidate to join our team as a Victim Advocate.
Your primary responsibility is to communicate with the crime victim and represent the victim in the criminal court. As a Victim Advocate, you will be responsible for educating the victims regarding the working of the criminal justice system. You will also be responsible for assisting the victims to cope up with trauma.
To be successful as a Victim Advocate, you should be holding a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a similar degree. You should possess an excellent ability to make decisions and be able to work for a long time.
In addition to this, prior work experience as a Victim Advocate will be an added advantage to the candidate. You should have an outstanding ability to solve various problems that victim is facing or could potentially face in an effective manner.

Counseling crime victims and witnesses.
Explaining the court proceedings to the victims.
Working in coordination with the organizational staff.
Taking the victim to the court.
Supporting the victim in court proceedings.
Representing victim’s needs as and when needed.
Tracking victim’s case outcomes on a regular basis.
Helping the victim’s in filing appropriate orders.
Making the victim aware of compensations.
Providing security and confidentiality to the victim.
Attending staff meetings and other conferences.
Notifying the victim after every hearing.
Offering other victim services such as crisis counseling, information on legal rights, etc.
Preparing reports on the overall victim's case.
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human, Social Service, or related field.
Proven work experience as a Victim Advocate or a similar role in the Legal department.
Formal legal training is mandatory.
A valid driving license.
Excellent understanding and knowledge of legal processes.
Ability to deal with various personalities.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work in stressful situations.
Working experience in crisis management.
Ability to stay calm while maintaining boundaries.
Excellent knowledge of the issues like domestic violence, sexual violence, etc.
