We are looking for a Lorry Driver to join our Logistics Department to help deliver goods to and fro. You will be reporting to the Transportation Manager and ensuring all shipments are delivered on time.
You should be able to verify the shipment documents of the goods that are to be transported. Besides, you should be able to collect invoice payments and process the same to the Accounting department.
Apart from transporting goods, you should be able to check the vehicle condition regularly. You should undertake minor repairs and schedule servicing appointments to rectify serious malfunctions.
You should have good knowledge of different routes and the ability to drive in extreme weather conditions. Moreover, having a clean driving record will be an advantage. In addition to this, you should display efficiency and reliability. Holding a valid driver’s license is vital to this job role.

Supervising the loading and unloading of goods
Maintaining the vehicle in an excellent working condition
Ensuring safety of goods while transporting
Finding and driving through a shorter route during an emergency or to avoid heavy traffic
Reporting any delays to the Transportation Manager
Maintaining an accurate record in the travel logs
Inspecting and conducting minor repairs
Adhering to the road safety precautions and regulations
Completing daily delivery schedules in a timely fashion
Collecting and verifying delivery documents
Paying tolls and maintaining a receipt of the same
Ensuring all the shipments are stacked properly
Keeping tracking of the weather conditions and traffic status before starting the journey
Scheduling timely vehicle servicing appointments
High school diploma or GED
Proven work experience as a Lorry Driver, Truck Driver or a similar position handling goods in the Logistics department
Holding a valid driver’s license
Certification in LGV C+E, CPC is mandatory
Having a clean driving and medical record
Familiarity with GPS and navigation tools
Basic understanding of shorter routes during an emergency
Complete knowledge of road safety rules and regulations
Excellent day and night vision
Ability to drive for long distances
Highly motivated and dependable
