Job Overview

We are looking for a Movie Makeup Artist to join our team to create unique looks for our cast in different film projects.

As movie makeup artists, you will be responsible for designing the looks of each character using authentic and genuine makeup products. You should also be familiar with using makeup and prosthetics to come up with special makeup effects. 

You should coordinate with the key Makeup Artists. You should also design and create the makeup for each actor/actress. In addition to this, you should assign personal makeup artists for actors and actresses as well.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the lighting technicians and film directors to get prepared on the character’s outlook and shooting settings.

• Sketch out makeup designs for all the characters.

• Calculate an estimated time required for makeup application and inform the directors and actors well in advance.

• Coordinate with Special effects Makeup Artist to create the look on the live performer.

• Make use of authentic and genuine makeup products.

• Coordinate with the Makeup department i.e.hairstylists and costume designers to create cohesive looks of the actors.

• Inform the production team about the products and tools required.

• Ensure a consistent makeup style throughout the shooting of the film.

• Store the products and tools properly.

• Assist the actors to remove prosthetics and body makeup.

Requirements

• Associate's degree levels at Cosmetology schools or relevant fields.

• Experience working as a Makeup Artist or Movie Makeup Artist on TV or films.

• Certification as a Professional Cosmetologist, Makeup or related fields.

• A portfolio will be mandatory.

• Sound know-how of a broad range of professional cosmetics.

• Experience with different makeup styles, such as natural, contemporary and horror.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Flexibility to work for long hours.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Exceptional oral communication skills.

• Excellent listening skills.

• Ability to lead and motivate the team.
