Job Overview

We are searching for a skilled Photo Editor to manage our photography assignments. You will be responsible for selecting, editing and positioning images in both print and web publications.

You will be collaborating with editors, photographers and other team members to decide on the photos that will be published. You should strictly adhere to the deadlines and make sure that they are met. 

As a Photo Editor, you will also be assisting Project Manager in hiring photographers. You should also have an expertise and passion for photography.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the tasks in collaboration with the editors and other members of the team to identify the photography requirements.

  • Obtaining formal permission to shoot in a particular area.

  • Assigning projects to photographers and ensuring deadlines are met.

  • Allocating and coordinating assignments and approving images.

  • Selecting, editing, and positioning photos, and publishing images on the web.

  • Manipulating the images to accomplish the highest quality using the right tools.

  • Ensuring the use of most appropriate photo equipment and ordering supplies as required.

  • Coordinating with fellow photographers, editors, and marketing reps to discuss future prospects.

  • Negotiating fees and supervising all designs.

  • Staying up-to-date with the latest photo editing software and technologies.

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Visual arts, Photography, Digital Media or related field.

  • Work experience as a professional Photo Editor or a similar role in the Media Department.

  • Sound experience with the latest photo editing programs and digital technology.

  • Outstanding photo editing skills.

  • A portfolio of previous work would be preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS office and computer imaging software.

  • Strong knowledge of studio management.

  • A creative mind with leadership skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.

  • A keen eye on details for accuracy.

  • Good time management abilities.

  • Strong decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication skills
