Job Overview

We are looking for a Piano Tuner with fine motor skills and piano playing skills to join us. You should be able to travel to different locations and understand the clients’ requirements. Also, you should have excellent analytical skills to determine the issue at hand. Your troubleshooting skills will prove helpful in resolving client complaints in a timely manner. 

You should be able to review and provide the client with an approximate timeline and repair costs. In addition to this, you should have good listening skills and the knowledge of voice notes and pitch. You should be able to gather feedback from clients after resolving their issues.

As a Piano Tuner, you should own good motor skills and a detail-oriented approach. Furthermore, you should have technical skills and decent years of experience in the Media industry.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients and understanding their issues

• Visiting different locations to access the piano

• Checking the physical condition of the piano

• Playing the instrument to ascertain its sound quality

• Providing clients the repair completion timeline and costs

• Placing orders for repair parts

• Using hand tools such as a tuning hammer to tighten or loosen the piano strings

• Gathering feedback from clients upon work completion

• Ensuring the sound quality is as per the clients’ preferences

• Collecting payments and maintaining the receipts of the same

• Checking and adjusting the pitch 

• Placing rubber strips between strings for testing purpose

• Reconstructing piano models after work completion

• Fixing piano keys and monitoring the tension of the hammers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related field

• A certification in piano tuning is mandatory

• Proven work experience in the Media industry

• Basic technical knowledge and skills

• An eye for detail and a good listening ear

• Familiarity with piano tuning tools like tuning hammer and tuning fork

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Willingness to travel to different locations

• Good motor skills

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to offer improved customer satisfaction
