Job Overview

We are looking for prospective Jewelers to join our Jewelry store.

As a Jeweler, you are responsible for cutting as well as shaping precious metal into attractive and beautiful jewelry. You are also responsible for repairing and modifying the pieces of jewelry as per the requirements of clients. You should have in-depth knowledge of various crafting hands as well as machine-operated tools.

In addition to this, you should have experience working with hand files, polishing wheel, buffering wire, and other tools. You should evaluate the final jewelry pieces to ensure that the assembly and smoothing of the pieces are done accurately. 

To be successful in this job role, you should have a strong understanding of metals such as gold, silver, and platinum. Knowledge of gems in accordance with color, quality, and cut is necessary for this role. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is also mandatory so as to plan out and design the ornaments.

As an ideal candidate, you should possess artistic ability with the ability to pay close attention to detail. You should also have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. You should be an honest and trustworthy individual.

Responsibilities

• Cutting and shaping metals to form jewelry as per the client’s requirements.

• Researching the market value of gems and stones before purchasing them.

• Cleaning the metals with polishing agents.

• Designing the jewelry with the help of Computer-Aided Software.

• Forming and creating wax models using hand tools.

• Creating innovative design as per the retail store specifications.

• Restoring and repairing old jewelry using modern techniques.

• Assessing the final ornament such as whether it is polished and cleaned well before delivery.

• Packing the ornament in a professional and trained manner.

• Staying up to date with the latest trends in jewelry and techniques.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior experience work as a Jeweler or a similar position in the Retail Industry 

• Experience working in a jewelry repair shop will also be considered.

• Professional education and training as a Jeweler will be an advantage.

• Exceptional knowledge in using crafting hand tools, hand files, polishing wheels, and other similar tools.

• Amazing understanding of the purity of the metals.

• Knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

• Phenomenal artistic ability.

• Ability to pay attention to details.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to use modern techniques to repair jewelry.

• Excellent ability to work individually as well as in a team as and when required.

• Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.
