Job Overview 

Our Logistics department is in search of an experienced Transportation Specialist to be a part of our team. You will be responsible for handling and scheduling transportation services. Besides, you should also be responsible for allocating drivers and negotiating contract terms with vendors. You should also be able to manage and track the transportation budget. 

You should also be able to plan and implement various transportation policies. In addition to this, you should also ensure that the transportation stuff complies with the industry rules and regulations. As part of your job role, you should also be able to examine logbook entries and verify transportation documents and invoices. 

As a Transportation Specialist, you should have a complete knowledge of the various logistic procedures and familiarity with logistics software. Moreover, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to handle stressful situations. Your ability to provide excellent customer service will be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities 

• Scheduling timely transportation services 

• Allocating Drivers for various transportation services such as pickups and deliveries 

• Explaining and negotiating contract terms with drivers and other vendors 

• Generating and processing transportation documents and invoices 

• Keeping a track of the transportation budget and expenses 

• Examining driver logbook entries 

• Developing and implementing transportation policies and procedures 

• Recruiting and overseeing the performance of the transportation stuff 

• Addressing customer queries and complaints and reverting the urgent ones to the Transportation Manager 

• Coordinating with the Transportation Manager to optimize transportation services 

• Ensuring compliance with the industry regulations and requirements 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, or a related field 

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Transportation Specialist, Transportation Administrator , or a similar role in the Logistics department 

• Complete knowledge of the industry rules, regulations, and logistics procedures 

• Familiarity with logistics software such as Oracle NetSuite ERP, Dataman ERP, and Infor WMS 

• Good time management and organizational skills 

• Strong leadership skills 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Good communication and negotiation skills 

• Ability to handle stressful situations 

• Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual 

• Ability to provide excellent customer service
