Job Overview 

Our Logistics department is in search of a smart and energetic individual to join us as a Truck Dispatcher. You will be primarily responsible for scheduling shipment deliveries and pickups. Besides, you should also be able to make note of any special shipment handling requests. You should also be able to determine and communicate the freight charges as per the delivery locations.  

As a Truck Dispatcher, you should also be able to generate and verify freight bills and invoices. Moreover, you should also be able to maintain and update Drivers logs and ensure that they comply with the transportation regulations. You should also be able to schedule and monitor minor truck repairs. 

To be able to perform in this job role, you should demonstrate good leadership skills. In addition to this, you should be able to address customer queries and complaints. You should also be able to prioritize tasks and handle stressful situations.

Responsibilities 

• Contacting Drivers and scheduling shipment deliveries and pickups 

• Communicating with customers and making note of any shipment handling requests 

• Determining and letting the customers know all the freight details 

• Ensuring that the deliveries and pickups are done as per the allocated timeline 

• Making a note of any route change requests 

• Generating and verifying freight bills and invoices 

• Checking the Truck Driver’s compliance with the transportation rules and regulations 

• Maintaining and updating Drivers logs 

• Addressing customer shipment queries and complaints 

• Scheduling and monitoring truck repairs and maintenance 

• Negotiating freight charges with vendors and customers 

Requirements 

• High school diploma or GED 

• Proven work experience as a Truck Dispatcher, Transport Administrator , or a similar role in the Logistics department 

• Familiarity with transport management and logistics software 

• Complete knowledge of the transportation regulations and requirements 

• Good time management and organizational skills 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to handle stressful situations and work under pressure 

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks 

• Highly motivated and detail-oriented individual 

• Good leadership skills 

• Ability to provide excellent customer service
