We are looking for a Travel Counselor with proven experience in the Travel industry to join our agency. Your passion for exploring places will be an added advantage. You should coordinate with clients to understand their travel needs and accordingly suggest them places. Based on your past travel experiences, you should be able to provide clients with tips on currency exchange, baggage safety, language, and other issues. 

As a travel agent and counselor, you should resolve client queries and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Besides helping book tickets, you should also assist in preparing necessary travel documents like visas and passports.  

Apart from helping clients with their travel arrangements, you should keep yourself updated with the latest developments in the travel industry. Your ability to travel far off countries on a budget will prove helpful when recommending affordable travel plans to clients.

Responsibilities

• Providing clients with travel information like flight details, accommodation, and sightseeing places

• Developing itineraries based on customer preferences

• Advising clients on travel terms, restrictions, and any other conditions

• Making necessary arrangements and reservations for clients

• Promoting and selling international tours and domestic travel packages

• Providing clients with all tour details via telephone or emails

• Processing payments and maintaining an accurate record of accounts receivable

• Providing important travel tips to clients on language, currency exchange, and safety of belongings

• Helping clients understand the importance of travel insurance

• Booking flights, train or any other transportation service for clients

• Resolving any customer complaints in a professional and timely fashion

• Making outbound calls regarding pending payments and reminders to submit documents

• Determining customer travel plans and budget

• Suggesting travel packages that match client budget and preferences

• Maintaining confidentiality of all sensitive information

• Attending conferences and workshops to maintain familiarity with travel trends and developments

• Achieving revenue targets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Travel, Tourism, Hospitality or related field

• Holding a CTA or CTC certification

• Proven work experience as a Travel Consultant, Travel Agent, or any relevant position in the Travel and Tourism industry

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to offer high customer service

• Familiarity with reservation software like Hotello, Cloudbeds, and Passkey

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools

• Displaying a pleasant personality and excellent etiquettes

• Excellent decision-making abilities
